Our private clinic, which also treats publicly insured patients under certain conditions, is located in the historic Girardet House – a landmark of Essen’s industrial heritage. Since 2020, the clinic has been part of University Medicine Essen (UME). We specialize in the treatment of joint disorders – more accurately, highly specialized, as each of our surgeons only performs procedures in which they have extensive, often decades-long experience. Our guiding principle is clear: Whenever the diagnosis allows, major surgery should be avoided.

Our clinic offers an exceptional environment with spacious rooms (40–50 m²) and a highly attentive nursing team. One nurse typically cares for only four patients, ensuring a high standard of personal care. Your chosen doctor will accompany you throughout your entire stay – from consultation to surgery and postoperative care. You will be treated by your doctor – not just any doctor.
As we focus exclusively on planned procedures, you will experience a calm, structured atmosphere. The absence of emergencies and other medical specialties enables us to implement our hygiene, screening, and testing protocols seamlessly – minimizing the risk of infection during your stay.
